Following the MHI presentation in Baku on 30 October, the IRU also presented the official results of the pre-feasibility study on the creation of Model Highway along the Baku - Tbilisi - Batumi - Trabzon route in the South Caucasus, at a meeting today organised jointly with the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia and with the support of the Association of International Road Carriers of Georgia (GIRCA).

The meeting was attended by governmental agencies of Georgia, including the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development and the Land Transport Agency, as well as representatives from international financial institutions, such as ADB and the World Bank, regional organisations, such as GUAM and USAID, diplomatic corps and the local business community. Participants showed their support for IRU activities aimed at developing ancillary road infrastructure in the South Caucasus and called for more active cooperation between stakeholders, in implementing MHI, based on the results of the pre-feasibility study.
