News from NELTI routes & statistics, 21-10-2008

Northern Route

The Buned Company delivered a consignment of sugar from Uzbekistan to Latvia. The vehicle is now on its way back with a freight of capers.

The Azatica Company of Kyrgyzstan has joined in the haulage along the North Route. At the present time, three road-trains of this company are on their way to Germany and at this point are following through Poland, while another two are on their way back. They carry medicines from Germany, and vegetables and fruit (bound for Russia) and radiators (bound for Minsk) in the western direction.

As many as 4 road-trains of the AtrimLogistik Company already participate in the haulage within the NELTI Project, and of these two have finished their first round trip and started on a second cycle of Eurasian haulage. The Northern Route thus at the present time demonstrates on the whole higher dynamics in performing the carriages, lesser aggregate downtime, and higher turnover of road transport vehicles in the course of haulage operations along the Asia - Europe lines.

Within the framework of the second round trip that has started, one of the road-trains left Tashkent and is at present on the approaches close to Moscow. Another road-train is preparing to start off from Tashkent. The remaining two trains are finishing their first round trip. One of these was loaded in Berlin and on 15 October left for Tashkent with diplomatic cargoes, and the other also took on diplomatic cargoes in Germany and is now on its way to Moscow.

Central Route

The Central Asia Company has carried out a delivery of textile freights from Uzbekistan to Turkey with the use of the Turkmenbashi - Baku ferry crossing over the Caspian Sea on the way. The road- train was unloaded in Istanbul, took on a new freight (equipment), and started on the way back. Its arrival in the Republic of Uzbekistan is expected in a few days.

Southern Route

Statistics
The Karadeniz Company of Turkey is stepping up its participation in the project. As many as 7 road-trains already take part in the haulage along the NELTI Southern Route. Five of these have successfully delivered freights eastwards, and are now preparing for a back journey. One of the trucks is taking on a consignment of electric spare parts in Togliatti. Another one is taking tires in Nizhnekamsk, a third - lentil in Saratov, and a forth with varnish and paint is close to finishing its first round trip and follows along the roads of Iran in the direction of Turkey. Yet another two vehicles with a freight of air conditioners are headed eastward and are now at the crossing of the Turkish-Iranian border.

The BUNYOD Company has practically accomplished the first round trip. The company's road-trains with a freight of medicines from Bulgaria are now on their way along the roads of Turkmenistan heading for the Uzbek border. The haulage should end in Tashkent.

The Oshmejtrans Company's road-trains after a successful delivery of a cotton consignment to Turkey will in the coming days start back with a freight of chocolates bound for the Republic of Uzbekistan.
